Difference Between Laser Engraving and Laser Cutting

At a first sight you seem to feel like you the know difference between laser cutting and engraving, but often times people confuse both the terms. To laser cut plywoodis different and to engrave on wood is a whole different terminology. Laser technology is on the rise and it is being used in many industries for many different purposes. Laser Engraving

The term engraving explains it. In this process, marks and designs are created in the materials. CO2 laser is used for engraving. The laser removes the cap of the wood exposing the core to design creative look. Engraving can be done for wood, plywood metal and many more. The laser technologies used for them are different for different materials but the process is same.

Laser Cutting

It is often misinterpreted with engraving. But it basically means to totally cut the piece as per desired shape and section. You can make many things out wood and metals by using such cutting methods. You can also make engraved industrial labels but the first step is cutting itself. Here also CO2 lasers can do the job. Cutting does not signifies cutting hard material it can also be about paper cutting, leather sectioning and even things like gasket cutting.
